Chemical properties of
chondroitin sulfate powderThe unsaturated sugars produced by CS under acidic, alkaline and enzymatic hydrolysis conditions, including oligosaccharides or disaccharides of low molecular weight CS and CS, are related to β-elimination reaction.
The degradation degree of CS under acidic, alkaline and neutral conditions is expressed by the UV absorbance value at 232nm, and the greater the UV absorbance value is, the greater the degradation degree is, thus reflecting the stability of CS under different conditions.
Physical property
CS is an acidic mucopolysaccharide extracted from animal tissues and is white or white powder. No odor; It is moisture-inducing. The aqueous solution of this product is viscous and does not condense when heated. The product is easily soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, and ether, and its salts are relatively stable to heat, and will not be destroyed when heated to 80℃. Chondroitin sulfate aqueous solution, which is unstable at higher temperatures or acids, is mainly deacetylated or degraded into monosaccharides or polysaccharides with lower molecular weight.
